Today.

Today was a great day.

Freshwater held a community barbecue - tons of people came out, it was trés encouraging. (Oh yes.. I now know how to do an accent on Macs)

Dan and I did a pot of shopping - he got two sweet shirts and two pairs of shoes.. he’s one cool guy now ;) HA.. haa…..  I am not buying ANYTHING since I’m getting a really expensive hot rock massage in a couple weeks that is so damn expensive.. but I’m sure worth every penny :)

We didn’t want to go home right away, so drove around downtown Etobicoke and Toronto stopping at James Gardens.. Oh my soul, beautiful.  Two different people were having wedding pics there.  As we were walking around there was an orchid blossom on a bench.. I didn’t see any other orchids in the garden, so it could have been from someone’s bouquet - either way, Dan put it in my hat:

I tell ya, it doesn’t take much for me to feel utterly beautiful, but I did :)

We walked around talking about old houses and dreaming of a pride-and-prejudice-esqe house.. *sigh* and then went to The Shamrock&Thistle for Guinness, Killkenny and  grub. SO good :)

I love days like these.  Dan got a towel rack put up in the bathroom, we cleaned up a bit, we wrote some lyrics to a song Dan wrote…. and now I’m sitting in the living room with candles flickering.. and loving life :)

WOOT!

Best laid plans..

Dan and I are coming up to our one-year anniversary of being a married couple.

That was a YEAR ago!

Things are going well.

We have been working hard at our jobs. There are things I can’t talk about just yet, but there may be changes ahead and maybe not. We all have to sit tight on that one.

We are working out regularly at a gym down the road.. and it’s exciting :)

We have three babies now:

Zeugma,

Qubit,

and the latest addition………

Zork !

I just made reservations for our long-weekend/Dan’s birthday/anniversary - we’re going to a SWANKY hotel…..

“This is a luxurious, spacious King Deluxe Suite with a separate living room with queen-size sofa sleeper, dining room and bedroom. Our King Deluxe Suite features a marble washroom with The Serenity Bath collection and Crabtree and Evelyn’s La Source amenities. Each suite comes with complimentary, wired, high-speed Internet access with Printer On remote printing services available, in room pay-per-view movies and web browser, two-line speaker phones with voicemail, alarm clock radio with MP3 connection, two 32″ flat panel TV’s, coffee maker, iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Mini bar, mini fridge, microwave and suites with kitchenettes are available upon request.”

(Oh my gosh.. I’m excited!)

I’m getting a 50-min. hot rock massage the night we arrive too!!!!

AHHHHH!!!! So exciting!

Dude, Dan thinks that because it’s HIS birthday, he can give me things.. I tried arguing.. and he is getting a new guitar, but seriously, I ended up with a good catch ;)

We’re going to take a day to go to the Toronto ZOO….

and then hit up the Ontario Science Centre too it should be good.

.. Yup.. that’s the plans we’re looking forward too.

Peace out guys.

In two weekends

I’m going to Julie’s for a big PARTY FOR TWO :)

We’re going to go on adventures, take photos, shop, drink hot beverages - and maybe some cold ones - eat some good food, drive around, and talk LOADS!

I’m stoked :)

Something I heard..

I was watching a film today - about a bunch of people and their screwed up lives because of lies and sin..  there is a line that a father tells his daughter’s boyfriend, “love is not a feeling, it doesn’t matter how you feel inside, it’s what you DO that shows your love to someone” - -

Bad things happen in our lives, somethings we don’t have control over even.  But, if you love someone - you need to do whatever it takes to show them that you love them - even if it means sitting on the front step for a week in the rain, or making a lunch or picking up the laundry.  You do things to show your love.

I heard a sad story about a relationship today.  It makes me terrified that something would happen to my marriage, but sometimes people go crazy, and do crazy things - we still need to love them … right?

Our newest baby :)

Zork and mama :)

New horizons

As of Tuesday, May 20th 2008, I am a Junior Editor at the Trader Corporation.

I LOVE IT!!!!!  And.. I have offically started my career.  WOW.. weird.

Interesting article

Things on my desk at work.

Post-Its from recycled paper. Kleenex. Paper clips. Stapler. Letter opener. Scissors. Highlighters. Pens. White Out. A ruler. Pencils. Staple remover. Lip balm. Push pins. A picture of my cats. A picture of my niece. A picture of my husband and I. Business cards. A mug. My day planner. A newspaper. A memo. Two binders. A Mac monitor and keyboard. A mouse. A phone. A red file folder. A glass with two carnations in it.

No WORD OF THE DAY though.

This is your life.

I have a wicked awesome husband who puts up with my nasty bouts of hating everything and ‘can’t be bothered to be alive’ days, mood swings and just plain stupidness.

I have two mothers and two fathers these days - it’s cool.  I love having in-laws.

I have 4 days left working at MaRS Discovery District and then on to The Trader Corporation as a Junior Editor.  I’m looking forward to it.

I have Friday through Monday off, but can’t seem to make any plans that will work out.  Dan can’t get off work on Friday (I want to go to Niagara Falls, I’ve only been once and I can’t remember it) and then we’re at my parent’s place for a celebration for mother’s day and 3 birthdays.  I just wanted Dan to take Friday off and we wouldn’t answer work calls and we’d just have a mini-holiday on our own..  but it’s not going to be like that now.

My house is clean.

I have a beautiful white orchid growing as well as a big number of green plants in the house :)  There are two bottles of wine in the house AND cheesecake!

God is faithful and loving and patient too.

Life is good.

Things that irk me:

In B.C. they are giving nine year old girls the HPV vaccine to reduce the risk of cervical cancer:
